![]() ![]() ![]() But, if you can look beyond that, "Body Heat" is still a stylish film noir from under-appreciated director Lawrence Kasdan. It's pretty ridiculous that a woman as wealthy as Kathleen Turner's Matty Walker lived in that beautiful huge home and had to rely on fans in the sweltering heat. The one complaint about "Body Heat" I have today is that the same one I had 40 years ago: rich people in Florida in 1981 had air conditioning. ![]() And young people, the most desired of today's audiences, can't pull themselves away from their phones unless there is CGI to distract them from their TikTok videos and social media pages. They don't make movies like this anymore because most of today's filmmakers don't have the requisite skill and Hollywood studios have pretty much thrown in the towel on adult audiences. Watching "Body Heat" again for the first time four decades after I first saw it in theaters, I was surprised at how well the film held up.
